Instrument Rating is usually done in conjunction with Commercial Pilot License and allows you to fly all Aircraft you are rated for, under IR flight rules.
Requirements to start the IR- Theory Training
- Valid PPL or CPL licence
- At least 50 hours of cross country flying
- Class 2 Medical certificate with Instrument Rating allowances
At least 200 hours of ground theory will have to be completed. In case you hold a frozen ATPL, your ground training have been covered already, if the last ATPL exam was passed not more than 3 years ago.
50 hrs total training, which can be split into
- 35 hrs Simulator (FNPT II)
- 15 hrs on Aircraft
At the end there will be a skill test with one of our examiners.
